Your account

How long you stay signed in, what Log out does, password changes and resets, sign-in lockouts, and what the dashboard cannot change.

Your account is the email and password you signed up with, plus two-factor sign-in. You manage it on Account and security, which you reach from the account menu (your avatar) or the sidebar. For two-factor sign-in and your receiving wallet, see Security.

At a glance

TopicWhat happens
Staying signed inA sign-in lasts 8 hours by default. After that, you sign in again.
Signing inSign in asks for your email and password. Once two-factor sign-in is on, the Two-factor code screen then asks for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or a recovery code. That second step expires 5 minutes after your password is accepted.
Log outLog out, in the account menu, signs you out on every device, not only this one.
Change your passwordAccount and security → Password. Signs out every other session, and Fianto tries to email you.
Forgot your passwordSign in → "Forgot your password? Reset it". An emailed 6-digit code lets you set a new one. Signs you out everywhere. If two-factor sign-in was on, it still is.
Too many sign-in attemptsMore than 10 sign-in attempts to your account from one network within 15 minutes block sign-in from that network for 15 minutes; more than 100 within an hour, from anywhere, block it for the account for an hour. You cannot unlock it yourself: wait.
Change your email addressNot possible in the dashboard.
Delete your accountNot possible in the dashboard.
DeactivationOnly a Fianto admin can deactivate or reactivate an account.

Change your password

On Account and security, the Password panel asks for your Current password, an Authentication code or recovery code when two-factor sign-in is on, a New password of 12 to 128 characters, and Confirm new password. Click Change password.

The panel then says "Password changed. Every other session of this account has been signed out." Fianto tries to email you "Your Fianto password was changed". If you did not make the change, write to support@fianto.xyz straight away.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. On Sign in, click "Forgot your password? Reset it".
  2. On Reset your password, enter the email you signed up with and click Send a code. The screen answers the same whether or not the email has an account.
  3. Find the email "Reset your Fianto password". The code works once, for 10 minutes, and is deleted after 5 wrong tries.
  4. On Choose a new password, enter the code, a New password and Confirm new password, then click Set new password.

Resetting signs you out everywhere. If two-factor sign-in was on, it still is: you need your authenticator app or a recovery code to sign back in.

Sign-in lockouts

You seeWhyWhat to do
"Too many attempts, try again later."Too many attempts in a short time, for example more than 10 sign-in attempts to this account from one network within 15 minutes, or more than 100 from anywhere within an hour.Wait. There is no way to unlock it yourself.
"Too many incorrect codes. Try again later."10 wrong two-factor codes in a row. The lock lasts 15 minutes the first time, then doubles, up to 24 hours.Wait. See Security.
"Invalid email or password"A wrong email or password. A deactivated account sees the same message.Check both, or reset your password.

What the dashboard cannot change

No email change and no account deletion

The dashboard has no way to change your account's email address or to delete your account. Write to support@fianto.xyz with questions about your account. For important business matters, write to admin@fianto.xyz.

Deactivation

Only a Fianto admin can deactivate an account. A deactivated account cannot sign in: it sees the "Invalid email or password" message, and its checkout stops working. An admin can reactivate it.
