Products and delivery

Choose which products and prices your shop shows, set each product's button and buyer email, and write what buyers get after paying.

3 min read

The editor's Products tab decides what your shop sells and what each buyer gets once they have paid: a message, and a link if you add one. The products themselves, with their prices, come from Products in the dashboard; the shop only chooses which to show.

The Products tab listing five products with their prices, each with an eye button and a ⋯ menu.

Before you start

  • The products you want to sell exist under Products, each with an active price. See Products and prices.
  • Open the editor: on the Shop page, click Edit shop, then the Products tab.

Steps

Show the products you sell

Each listed product is a row with a drag handle, its eye (show or hide) and a ⋯ menu (Move up, Move down, Hide or Show). Products not in the shop yet sit under "Not in your shop": click the + next to one to show it. A shop lists up to 100 products.

Set up a product

Click a product to open its settings ("Back to products", or Esc, returns):

  • Prices shown: tick the prices the shop offers, up to 10. "Keep at least one price. A product with no price cannot be bought."
  • Kind: digital, service, membership, software or support. It sets the default button and buyer email: digital "Buy", service "Book" and membership "Join" ask for the email (Required); software "Subscribe" and support "Support" make it Optional.
  • Address: the product page's address in your shop, /p/<address>.
  • Button label (up to 24 characters), up to 8 Points (up to 80 characters each), and Featured.

Choose whether to ask for the buyer's email

Under "After a purchase", Buyer email is "Required" (no purchase without an email), "Optional", or "Not asked" (the field is hidden on the product page). Fianto emails the buyer what they bought only when they gave an email.

Write what the buyer gets

Still under "After a purchase", write the Message to the buyer (up to 2,000 characters) and, if you want, a Link (https:// only) with a Link label (up to 40 characters). Click Save ("Delivery saved").

A product's After a purchase settings: Buyer email set to Required, a message, the link https://quillfern.example/credits with the label Add credits, and a Save button.

Delivery is saved with its own Save, not by publishing, and "Changes here apply to every buyer immediately": past buyers who open their receipt see the new text too.

A link you send can’t be taken back

The editor shows this for a membership: when a subscription ends, nothing takes back the message or the link the buyer already has. Anyone the buyer forwards their receipt or email to sees them too, so don't put anything behind the link that must reach only one person.

Check it worked

In the preview, the product shows with the prices you ticked and your button label. Open it on your published shop: its page shows the Email field unless Buyer email is "Not asked".
