Publish and manage your shop
Publish your draft, restore an older version, rename the shop, set where sale emails go, unpublish, and what a suspension means.
Your shop has a draft, which the editor saves as you go, and a published version, which visitors see. Publishing copies the draft to your address. The Shop page shows where things stand: "Draft", "Published" or "Suspended", and "Unpublished changes" while the draft differs.
Before you start
- Your account is approved. Before approval, Publish asks you to get approved first.
- At least one listed product shows an active price. See Products and delivery.
Steps
Publish
In the editor, click Publish to open "Publish your shop". Under "Fix before publishing" it lists what blocks a publish; under "Worth a look", what only deserves a check, such as "Some text is still the starter text." or "Add a support email so buyers can reach you.". Fix this takes you to the item. When nothing blocks, click Publish now; the dashboard answers "Published at" followed by your shop's address.
A published change reaches visitors within about 15 seconds. Later changes stay in your draft until you publish again. To drop them, open the ⋯ menu in the editor's top bar and choose Discard changes: your draft goes back to the published version.
Restore an older version, if you need to
On the Shop page, click Settings ("Shop settings"). Under "History", the last 50 published versions are kept, the current one tagged "Live". Restore to draft copies a version into your draft; your published shop does not change until you publish.
Rename the shop, if you need to
In "Shop settings", under "Shop name", type the new name and click Rename shop. The same name rules apply as when you created it (see Create your shop). You can rename at most once every 30 days. The old address keeps redirecting to the new one, and receipts keep working.
Choose where sale emails go
Under "Sale notifications", set "Send sale emails to" and click Save ("Sale email saved"). Leave
it empty to use your account email. When you set an address that is a different inbox, Fianto tells
your account email, at most 3 times a day; a different spelling of the same inbox (upper case, a
+tag, or Gmail dots) counts as the same inbox.
Unpublish, if you need to
Unpublish shop takes the shop offline: "Your shop goes offline and visitors can no longer buy. Your draft stays, and you can publish again." Visitors then see "This shop does not exist". A buyer who already paid keeps their receipt.
If Fianto suspends your shop
Fianto can suspend a shop, with a reason, and restore it. While it is suspended:
- it answers "This shop does not exist", like an unknown address, and its receipts stop working;
- a checkout that the buyer has not started paying is closed at once; one already being paid can still complete;
- the Shop page shows "Suspended" with the reason, and the shop cannot be published;
- its emails wait. After a restore, Fianto sends the waiting emails of purchases less than 6 days old; see After a sale.
Check it worked
The Shop page shows "Published" and your address. Click Open shop: the page opens at
https://<name>.fianto.xyz with the products you listed.
Troubleshooting
| You see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "List at least one product with a price, or visitors will have nothing to buy." | No product in the shop is shown with an active price. | In the Products tab, show a product and one of its active prices, then publish. |
| "Nothing has changed since you last published" | Your draft is the same as the live shop. | Nothing to do. |
| "You can rename again on <day>" | You renamed the shop less than 30 days ago. | Rename on or after that day. |
| "Your account is not approved yet, so you cannot publish." | Fianto has not approved your account. | Finish setup and wait for the review. See Review and approval. |
| The shop shows "Suspended" | Fianto suspended the shop; the reason is shown next to it. | Write to support@fianto.xyz. |
