What it costs

What you pay for a one-time payment, a subscription, each renewal and each action in the subscriptions portal.

Paying through fianto can involve up to four kinds of cost: the shop's price, fianto's service fee, the Solana network fee, and, for a subscription only, Solana account rent. This page says which apply when, and who pays them.

The service fee

The service fee is added on top

fianto's service fee is capped at 10 % of the price. It is added on top of the price and you pay it, rounded down in your favour. It goes to fianto in the same transaction as the price, and only when it is above zero. The checkout page always shows a "Service fee" row, which says "None" when there is no fee.

The fee is fixed when the shop creates your checkout. On a subscription it stays the fee you subscribed with: a later change to fianto's fee applies only to new subscribers.

A one-time payment

One-time payment

You pay the price plus the service fee in USDC, and the Solana network fee in SOL. Keep at least 0.00001 SOL in the wallet. A one-time payment costs no account rent. You need a USDC account that already exists: fianto never creates one.

Starting a subscription

Starting a subscription

You pay the first period's price, plus the service fee when it is above zero, inside the transaction that starts the subscription. You also pay the network fee and Solana account rent in SOL. The rent is read from Solana when you subscribe. The checkout page says it is "shown on the next step or by your wallet" before you approve.

The rent covers up to two accounts on Solana:

  • This subscription's own account. Its rent comes back when you reclaim the rent after the subscription has ended.
  • Your wallet's shared USDC subscription account, only when your wallet does not have one yet. Every subscription on that wallet relies on it, and reclaiming one subscription's rent never returns this part.

The rent goes to those accounts on Solana, not to the shop or to fianto.

Each renewal

Renewals

Each renewal takes the same price, plus the service fee when it is above zero, every 30 days or every 365 days, as the shop's price sets. You do not approve each one. fianto signs each renewal and pays its network fee.

The amount is fixed on Solana when you subscribe. The checkout page calls it "Most that can be taken" and says it can never be raised.

Actions in the portal

Cancelling a subscription, reclaiming its rent and renewing your approval each need one transaction that you sign, and your wallet pays its small network fee in SOL. Signing in to the portal is a message, not a transaction: it costs nothing and moves no funds.
