Paying through a payment link
Pay a merchant's payment link from your Solana wallet, through the link's page and Fianto's checkout page, and what a closed link shows.
A merchant may send you a payment link: an address on Fianto's checkout site that reads
https://checkout.fianto.xyz/l/ followed by 16 letters and digits. It sells one thing at one price.
You open it, press its button, and pay on Fianto's checkout page from your Solana wallet, like any
other Fianto payment.
Before you start
- What you need to pay: see Paying with Fianto. A Solana wallet, USDC in it, and a little SOL.
- The link itself, from the merchant. Check that it starts with
https://checkout.fianto.xyz/l/.
Steps
Open the link
The page shows one card: the merchant's initial and name, the product, the price in USDC and a line that says how often you pay: "One payment" for a single payment, or how often a subscription renews. The amount on the card is the price. The service fee, and for a subscription the network fee, are added on the checkout page, where you see the total before you pay.
The foot of the page shows the merchant's support email, when they set one.
Give your email, if the link asks
Some links ask for an email: "Your email" when it is required, "Your email, optional" when it is not, and some links don't ask. The email you give is passed to the checkout page, where it is shared with the merchant so they can reach you.
Press the button
The button reads Pay with a wallet for a one-time payment, or Approve with a wallet for a subscription. While it works it reads "Opening checkout…", then it sends you to Fianto's checkout page for that one price, which stays open for 30 minutes.
Pay there as described in Paying with Fianto. If you gave no email on the link, the checkout page offers its own optional email field. To change your mind, cancel on the checkout page: you return to the link's page, and pressing the button again starts a new checkout.
After you pay
After a one-time payment, the receipt on the checkout page shows Continue to and the merchant's name only when the merchant set a page to send you to; it opens that page. Otherwise you stay on the receipt. After you subscribe, the receipt offers "Manage your subscription" and "See all your subscriptions", which open the portal.
Fianto does not email you about a payment made through a link. Keep the receipt, or note the transaction, if you need a record.
When a link is closed
A link the merchant closed, that has ended or reached its limit, or whose product is no longer sold, shows "This link is closed": the merchant is not taking payments on it any more. When the merchant set a support email, an Email button with the merchant's name writes to them.
If the link stops taking payments while you are on the checkout page, the checkout stops before your wallet opens and says that the link stopped taking payments, or took its last payment, while you were paying. If you had already started paying, you can finish.
Check it worked
The checkout page shows its receipt, "Payment received" for a one-time payment, and the payment is in your wallet's recent activity.
