Paying with fianto
Pay a shop in USDC from your Solana wallet on fianto's checkout page, and what happens after you approve.
A shop that uses fianto sends you to fianto's checkout page. You connect a Solana wallet, check the price details, and approve one transaction in your wallet. The price goes straight from your wallet to the shop, and any service fee to fianto, in the same transaction. Nothing is held in between.
Before you start
- A Solana wallet that can sign a transaction without sending it. The checkout page works with wallets that follow the Wallet Standard and offer signing on its own; there is no fixed list of wallets. A wallet that can only sign and send in one go cannot pay here.
- USDC in that wallet, in a USDC account that already exists and is not frozen: enough for the price plus the service fee.
- A little SOL in the same wallet for the Solana network fee: at least 0.00001 SOL.
Steps
Check what you are paying
The checkout page lists the Subtotal, the Service fee and the Total. The service fee goes to fianto and is added on top of the price; when there is none, the row says "None". A separate row, Solana network fee, reads "A little SOL, paid by your wallet".
Connect your wallet
Pick your wallet and approve the connection. A wallet that cannot sign for fianto to send shows "Cannot sign here". Once connected, the page says "Ready to pay. Press Pay, then approve it in your wallet."
Press Pay and approve in your wallet
The button shows the total, for example Pay 10.00 USDC. Your wallet then asks you to approve one transaction. It sends the price to the shop's wallet and, when the service fee is above zero, the service fee to fianto, in the same transaction. You are the only signer, and you pay the network fee.
Your wallet only signs. fianto sends the signed transaction to Solana, and sends it again if needed.
Wait for the confirmation
Keep the page open. When Solana confirms the transaction, the page says "Payment complete. Thank you! Taking you back to the shop…" and then takes you back to the shop, or closes if it opened as a pop-up. The receipt says "Confirmed on Solana", and that the shop is told once Solana finalizes it.
What a one-time payment costs you
The price, plus the service fee when it is above zero, both in USDC, plus the Solana network fee in SOL. A one-time payment costs you no account rent, and fianto never creates a USDC account for you. See What it costs.
To stop before you pay, use Cancel and return to the shop. It is there until the page has finished, and cannot be used while a payment is being sent.
If a payment did not complete, check your wallet before paying again
If the page says the payment did not complete, or that it stopped checking, look at your wallet's recent activity first. If the USDC left your account, do not pay again: contact the shop.
Check it worked
The page showed "Payment complete" and a receipt that says "Confirmed on Solana". Your wallet's history shows the transfer to the shop. The shop sees the payment once Solana finalizes it.
