# Manage your payment links (/merchants/payment-links-manage)

Every link you create stays on the **Payment links** page. From there you open a link to change its
options, close it or reopen it, and see the payments made through it. A link is never removed: a
link you no longer want is closed.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

* Your account is approved and you have created at least one link. See
  [Create a payment link](/merchants/payment-links-create).

## Steps [#steps]

**Step 1.**

### Find a link [#find-a-link]

In the sidebar, under **Payments**, click **Payment links**. The list shows the newest links first,
on numbered pages, with the columns Product, Amount, Charge, Status, Payments and Created,
and a **Copy link** button on each row. Payments reads the number of paid payments, or that number
against the limit, for example `3 / 10`.

*Payment links. Plinthwave RPC is a demo merchant.*

* Narrow the list with the status chips: "All", "Open", "Closed", "Ended", "Full" and "Unavailable".
* The search box finds links whose product name contains what you type, in any case, or the link
  whose 16-character code you paste.
* Tick rows to export just those rows as a CSV file, with the columns Product, Amount (USDC), Charge,
Status, Payments, Limit, URL and Created (UTC).

Click a link to open its page: the product name, the address with **Copy link**, the status, and a
"Link" panel with the amount, the charge, the payments (with the limit, if set), and the link's options ("none" where one is
not set). "Back to payment links" returns to the list.

**Step 2.**

### Change its settings [#change-its-settings]

On the link's page, click **Settings**. The dialog shows the "Checkout" and "Limits (optional)"
parts of the New link drawer, filled in with the link's options, and changes only those four:
"Ask for email", "After payment, send them to", "Ends on a date" and "Ends when full". A limit the
link has starts ticked; untick it, or empty its field, and click **Save** to clear it. On a link
that sells a subscription, "After payment, send them to" is a note instead of a field. The rules are
the same as when you created the link: see [Create a payment link](/merchants/payment-links-create).

The price and the product can't be changed. The Link panel says, beside the amount: "The amount can’t change. To charge a different amount,
make a new link." If you set a limit at or below the payments the link already has, the dialog warns
that the link then reads Full and takes no more payments.

A later end date, or a higher or cleared limit, makes an Ended or Full link Open again: there is
nothing else to click.

**Step 3.**

### Close or reopen it [#close-or-reopen-it]

**Close link** asks "Close this link?": "Nobody can start paying on it until you reopen it. Payments
already made stay paid." Confirm, and the page says "Link closed". A payer who had already started
paying when you closed it can still finish. Closing cancels nothing: a subscription bought through
the link carries on with its plan.

A closed link has **Reopen link** instead ("Link reopened"). Reopen is refused while the link's price
or product is ended. A reopened link that is past its end date or has reached its limit still takes
no payments, and the page says so: change the end date or the limit in **Settings**.

**Step 4.**

### See its payments [#see-its-payments]

The link's page lists "Payments on this link" on numbered pages, with the chips "All",
"Succeeded", "Pending" and "Failed" and the columns Status, Amount, Wallet, Email, Signature
and Date. Wallet and Signature open the Solana explorer. Tick rows to export them as a CSV file.

![A payment link's page scrolled to Payments on this link: the chips All, Succeeded, Pending and Failed, and rows with Succeeded, Pending and Failed payments, each with its amount, wallet, email and signature.](/screenshots/payment-links/link-detail.webp)

*Amounts are demo values. Plinthwave RPC is a demo merchant.*

A row appears only once a payer has sent a transaction: clicks that never reached the wallet are not
listed. Succeeded means paid, Pending means the payment is still on its way, and Failed means
neither.

## Where link payments show up [#where-link-payments-show-up]

A link payment is an ordinary sale. A one-time link payment appears in **Orders** and **Payments**; a
subscription bought through a link appears in **Subscriptions** and **Payments**. Both appear in
**Customers**, in the Overview and in your exports, like any other.

A one-time payment's order ID is `plink_` followed by a random ID, shown as it is. Orders has no
special label for link payments: an order ID that starts with `plink_` is one. A subscription creates no
order, so it has none in Orders. The "Payments on this link" panel has no link to the order.

## Check it worked [#check-it-worked]

> The link's status tag shows what you expect: Closed after **Close link**, Open after **Reopen link**
> or after a later end date or a higher limit. The Payments column in the list counts the link's paid
> payments.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

| You see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Payment links aren’t available yet" | Payment links are not turned on for Fianto yet: "Payment links are not open on Fianto yet. Check back later." | Check back later. |
| "This price or its product has ended. Make a new link with an active price." under Reopen link | The link is Unavailable: its price or product was ended. | Create a new link with an active price. |
| "Link reopened, but its end date has passed, so it takes no payments." | The end date is in the past. | Set a later end date, or clear it, in Settings. |
| "Link reopened, but it has reached its payment limit, so it takes no payments." | The link has reached its limit. | Raise or clear Ends when full in Settings. |
| A payment you expect is not under "Payments on this link" | The payer clicked the button but never sent a transaction from their wallet. | Ask the payer whether they approved the payment in their wallet; if not, they can open the link and pay again. |
| The link reads Unavailable | Its price, or that price's product, was ended. | Create a new link with an active price. |
