# Needs attention (/merchants/needs-attention)

**Needs attention** gathers the records that may need you to act. The sidebar shows the total
beside **Needs attention**, and the **Overview** shows a "Needs attention:" strip with **See
details** whenever a count is above zero. The counts cover all your records, not one month.

## The three counts [#the-three-counts]

Each count above zero gets its own panel on the page, with a button to the matching list; a count
of zero gets no panel. When all three are zero, the page says "Nothing is counted here."

| Panel | What it counts | What to do |
| ---------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Past-due subscriptions | Subscriptions whose status is "Past due": a renewal charge failed for a reason the payer can fix. | Click **See past-due subscriptions**. Each subscription page says what happened and what happens next. |
| Transfers that did not match an order | Orders that received a transfer carrying their payment reference that was not accepted as their payment: a second payment on an order already paid, or a transfer with the wrong amount or fee. | Click **See these orders**. Each order page says whether to refund the payer. |
| Failed payments where the money arrived anyway | Payments marked "Failed" whose transfer still put USDC in your wallet. | Click **See these payments**, and check each one before you act on its order. |

> **Money reached your wallet in the last two:**
>
> In an unmatched transfer and in a failed payment where the money arrived, the payer's USDC is in
> your wallet. Fianto never holds your funds, and there is no refund API: if you refund, send the
> USDC back from your own wallet.

## Why a row stays counted after you refund [#why-a-row-stays-counted-after-you-refund]

Fianto cannot see refunds you send from your own wallet. An order with an unmatched transfer, or a
failed payment whose money arrived, stays counted after you refund the payer. Keep your own record
of what you have refunded. A past-due subscription leaves the count when a charge succeeds or when
the subscription ends.
