# Exports (/merchants/exports)

Each of the **Payments**, **Orders**, **Subscriptions** and **Customers** lists has an **Export**
button. It downloads that list as a CSV file for the dates you choose, with the columns you pick.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

* Your account is approved.
* You know the first and last day you need, in UTC.

## Steps [#steps]

**Step 1.**

### Open the export [#open-the-export]

Go to the list you want and click **Export**. A dialog opens, named after the dataset.

**Step 2.**

### Choose the dates [#choose-the-dates]

Under **Date range (UTC, both days included)**, set **From** and **To**, or click one of the quick
ranges: **This month**, **Last month**, **Last 30 days** or **This year**. Both days are included,
and a range can cover at most 366 days.

**Step 3.**

### Filter by status, if you want [#filter-by-status-if-you-want]

**Status filter** starts at the status the list is filtered by, or at **Any**. Pick one status to export only those rows. The customers
export has no status filter. On **Payments**, the "money arrived" filter of the list is not applied
to the export: it includes every failed payment.

**Step 4.**

### Pick the columns [#pick-the-columns]

Under **Columns**, the usual columns are ticked; tick or untick the others. Choose at least one.

**Step 5.**

### Download [#download]

Click **Download CSV**. The page says "Preparing your CSV — your browser will download it when it’s
ready." The file is named `fianto-<dataset>-<from>_<to>.csv`, for example
`fianto-payments-2026-09-01_2026-09-30.csv`.

> **Gross, fee and net:**
>
> Amounts are in USDC with 6 decimals. **Gross** is what the payer paid, the service fee included;
> **Fee** is the service fee; **Net** is what reached your wallet.

## What is in the file [#what-is-in-the-file]

* Dates are in UTC.
* Customer emails are what the payer typed, and are not verified.
* A text cell that starts like a spreadsheet formula (with `=`, `+`, `-` or `@`, or with a tab or
  a line break) gets a `'` in front, so a spreadsheet shows it as text instead of running it.

## Check it worked [#check-it-worked]

> Your browser downloads `fianto-<dataset>-<from>_<to>.csv`. Its first row names the columns you picked,
> in Fianto's short form (for example `gross`, `fee`, `net`), and its amounts have 6 decimals.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

If an export is refused, a page "The export did not start" says why, with a **Back** link.

| You see | Why | Fix |

| "Choose a From date, like 2026-09-01." or "Choose a To date, like 2026-09-30." | A date is missing or not a real date. | Set both dates. |
| "The To date must not be before the From date." | The dates are the wrong way round. | Swap them. |
| "A range can cover at most 366 days." | The range is longer than 366 days. | Export it in parts. |
| "Choose at least one column." | No column is ticked. | Tick at least one. |
| "This range has … rows; exports are limited to 50,000. Choose a shorter range." | More than 50,000 rows match. | Choose a shorter range, or a status filter. |
| "This report is taking too long. Try a shorter range or again in a moment." | Counting the rows took too long. | Try a shorter range, or try again in a moment. |
| "Too many requests. Retry after the number of seconds in the Retry-After header." | More than 20 exports in an hour from your account. The page does not show that number of seconds. | Wait a while, then try again. |
